Who I am
I’m Karen Spies, the host of Second Wind Women podcast and a consultant that helps women in their second wind with creative passion businesses. I work with new arts businesses (under 1 year) and women who are just about to make the leap into entreneurship.
What I do
I’ve built over 100 websites, led a $400K marketing overhaul at the Stanford Research Institute, and helped grow web traffic by 25%. But after earning my MA in Buddhist Studies while single and pregnant, I buried my identity as an artist, thinking it was too risky and irresponsible.
My turning point came while leading an engineering team meeting when my creative question solved a complex problem and I realized my creative vantage point was a valuable perspective.
Today, I help midlife women visual artists: painters, sculptors, jewelers, and folk artists, who are stuck in a cycle of creating but not selling, and want to build the foundation for their first $5K or $10K month.
